WE ANSWER

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do therapy sessions usually happen?

Therapy can occur in groups or one-on-one, taking place at various locations like daycare, community centers, or at home. At Level Ahead ABA, our main focus is on personalized, one-on-one behavioral intervention. While we're flexible and can conduct therapy in different settings if needed, we believe the home environment is ideal. It allows parents to actively participate in implementing techniques, while also providing a familiar and comfortable space for the child. Therefore, we recommend starting autism therapy at home for the best results.

  • At what age is it best to begin ABA treatment?

Research suggests that beginning therapy at a young age, when learning new skills is easier, is optimal. However, starting therapy later in life isn't a lost cause and can lead to significant achievements. At Level Ahead ABA, we work with individuals from infancy to young adulthood.

  • What is a BCBA?

A BCBA holds a Masters level degree in ABA, completed over 1500-2000 fieldwork/experience hours and passed a national board exam. They assess skills and areas of need, design the treatment plans, supervise RBT's, support parents, and continuously re-evaluate and updating treatment.

  • What does an RBT do?

An RBT, or Registered Behavior Technician, is a paraprofessional who conducts the 1:1 sessions with the child. RBTs bring the individualized care plan to life, under the guidance of a BCBA.

  • How many therapy hours are typically needed for good results?

Every child’s needs are different so there is not a one-size-fits-all answer. The intensity of the therapy will vary, based on the individual needs and strengths of each client. Level Ahead ABA’s treatment plans generally include about 15-25 hours of therapy per week.

  • What requirements does Level Ahead have for their staff?

We have the highest of standards, resulting in a team made up of only very qualified professionals. Besides credentials, our ABA specialists share our passion for client-focused, warm, personalized therapy and constantly participate in additional training.

  • How expensive is ABA therapy, and what portion does insurance usually cover?

Though ABA therapy is a costly program, insurance coverage makes it highly affordable. Level Ahead ABA participates with most major insurance providers and navigates the entire approval process from start to finish. For those without approved coverage, Level Ahead offers reasonable and convenient payment plans that significantly ease the brunt of the cost of ABA therapy.
